Working alongside 3D designers, fabricators, maintenance teams, and corporate partners, I helped bring new exhibits to life at Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum. My work included environmental graphics, sponsor integration, and visual elements designed to work seamlessly within the physical exhibit environment.

Associated Foods Exhibition Design

The Associated Foods exhibit introduced children to the journey of food from warehouse to grocery store through an interactive, life-size shopping experience. I designed the environmental graphics and interactive visual elements that connected the different stages of the experience, including large wall murals and colorful produce graphics that helped children understand the relationship between the warehouse and grocery store. I coordinated with printers and project partners to translate the designs into durable physical elements that could withstand use in a high-traffic children’s museum environment, resulting in a cohesive and engaging exhibit experience.

Utah Transit Authority Bus Exhibit

To create a realistic public-transit experience within the museum, I collaborated with UTA to develop an immersive bus stop environment. I designed the large-scale Salt Lake City skyline graphic and bus bench installation and helped develop the visual treatment of the exhibit bus, including its paint and graphic details. The finished environment recreated the experience of waiting for public transportation within the museum’s exhibit space.

Discovery Gateway Exhibit at Mark Miller Subaru

For a partnership with Mark Miller Subaru, Discovery Gateway needed to adapt one of its exhibits for a significantly smaller footprint. I helped redesign and scale key visual elements of the original exhibit so the experience could translate effectively to the dealership environment while maintaining the visual character of the museum installation. The result was a condensed version of the exhibit that retained the recognizable look and experience of the original.

Exhibition Advertisements

The museum’s street-facing windows provided a high-visibility opportunity to promote exhibits to visitors and people passing through the surrounding mall. I selected the exhibits and photography, designed large-scale window graphics, and worked with installers to determine the appropriate production and application method. For long-term durability, the graphics were reverse-applied from inside the windows while maintaining natural light through the glass, creating a prominent advertising opportunity without compromising the building’s interior environment.

Marathon Petroleum Sponsor for “Water Play” Exhibit

Marathon Petroleum sponsored the museum’s existing Water Play exhibit, requiring their brand to be integrated into the experience without disrupting the existing environment. I designed and coordinated the production and installation of sponsor graphics and helped develop branded elements for the exhibit unveiling. The result was a cohesive sponsor presence that integrated into the existing exhibit experience.
